Turning our Blogs into website/blogs by adding pages.

This is something we can do. Add a "pages" gadget to your page somewhere. I like mine along the top. To create pages go to the "posting" tab. Click "Edit Pages" and add the pages you want. You can have 10 if you want!

Welcome to IT8 -Introduction to Digital Design

Hi there!
I hope you will all enjoy this class and your last elective rotation of the year. Today's class, #2 of 9 total classes, we will try to set up our blogs and also complete our powerpoints. Depending on how every one does we may move into photo editing before the end of the day.

Once you have created you blog your first "post" will be to write 3-5 sentences on the subject: "The Highlights and low points of my first year of high school at GESS"

The second post will be to "upload your 10 favorite photos from assignment 2, the internet search. They can all go in one post.

I'm happy to be back with you today!
From what I can gather, this is what we are up to:

1. Today we are working on our Powerpoint Presentations using the info you found on your internet search last time (assignment 02)
2. You also need to post to your blog the 1o best photos you found during your search, with a title for each one. You can do this as one big post
3. From last time, before the break, you also need to post your Monkeyface and Pucker and Bloat photos to your blog
4. The following people need to add their Blog Information to our list of blogs:

Welcome to Day 2!

Hope you are all looking forward to your holidays!!! This is your last class before you're done!

Today:

1. We finish working with Photoshop to complete the Pucker and Bloat assignment and the Monkeyface assignment. They belong in your IT8/A4 folder. They also need to be posted to your blog
2. We will get everyone's blogs working and share the addresses by working on a google document together. Here is the link to go to to add your information:

4. We will work on some more editing and creating graphics but today we will use Macromedia Fireworks to do our editing and creating
   

Welcome new recruits!

I hope you all have a successful and awesome experience in the class! I really enjoyed my first class and I believe they enjoyed the class too. There are some great projects that they've done and that I'll share with you as we go through the class.

Today's Plan:

1. Start up Info, class rules and handouts to take home and get signed (homework for Friday)
2. File Folder Creation
3. Gmail account creation (homework for Friday)
   
4. Blog creation - Today and Friday
   
5. Assignment 04 (Assignments 02-03 will be done first class back from March break with a TOC)
6. Assignment 04-6 and 04-7 using Photoshop

I'm following all the IT8 Blogs - they're good!

I am following just about everone's blogs automatically now so whenever they post something I get an update in my BLOGGER DASHBOARD. You need to follow this blog if you're in IT8.

We have been doing a lot o Digital Image manipulation with Photoshop and now with Fireworks in the last 3 classes. Everybody is learning new skills and having some fun.

There ar now 4 CLASSES LEFT - we're more than 1/2 way through. Today we are spending the first hour doing Fireworks Images and then the second 1/2 I will be teaching you Fireworks frame by frame Animation.

We have everyones Blog on line and working now and I am working my way through them and becoming a follower of all the students. Some need to fill in the gaps still. Look at Nick's Blog to see if you're missing anything as his is up to date.

Spent the afternoon marking, A-01= blogs which I will continue to mark, A-02=Word Internet Search, A-03=Powerpoints, A-04-5 and A-04-6= the 2 photoshop pics posted to the blog. There are some good ones there! Have a look at the student blogs to see!

Had a great meeting after school with Keely and Jordan from Central School about the new Applied Digital Communication course that we will be offering next September at GESS and Central as a pilot project. It will be SWEET!

Students need to have their Powerpoint (Assignment 3) finished when they come to class on Weds Feb 10th. If you don't see me in 125 at lunch for extra help! If not done you will be in the Success room 139 with a laptop during your lunches until it's done.

We did an experiment sharing a Google Document with many of us editing at the same time. Fun! Here's the product which any student can revise as it is a live document

Happy Friday!

So today I'm doing many things which I didn't really plan on doing! Teaching is always like that so one gets used to it... I really wanted to work through some 3D animation assignments to make sure they worked and I could do them - to be able to teach anyone who had trouble and I wanted to add all the IT 8 blogs to my listing webpage...

Instead so far: This morning I set up a video of some 3D animations in the library to attract some new "talent" for courses next year - Hope it helps! Some great stuff to make there and tons of fun (1/2hr) Then I had to prepare attendance records for the Government Audit of the school for my Outdoor Ed class (1 hour) Then I had to prepare a DVD for Josie Evans Mom as a souvenir of her school work in Digital Media (1/2 hour) I hope I can do some of my other stuff at the same time as I'm burning the DVD for the Evans on my Macbook Pro using IMovie and IDVD Rock on! The weekend is coming too!
